About the Studio

Kenji throws quiet, functional stoneware in the pottery town of Mashiko, firing in a wood kiln shared with three neighbouring studios.

Working from Mashiko for 18 years, Kenji focuses on minimalist ceramics. Every piece is signed and photographed before it leaves the studio.

Clay teaches patience. The kiln decides the rest.

  • The colour is a little darker than in the photos, but I actually prefer it. Beautifully made.
